Story Animator (storyanimator.sjbuilds.dev) is made by sjbuilds.dev. We keep as little about you as we can. You can write and preview stories without an account, and then nothing you write leaves your browser.
In short
- Without an account, your story stays in your own browser.
- With an account, we store your email address and the stories you save, so you can come back to them.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data at any time.
What we collect
If you do not sign in
The editor keeps your current draft and your light or dark choice in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We do not receive it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
If you sign in
- Your email address, to send you sign-in links and to know which stories are yours. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google.
- The stories you save: their text, title and when they were created and changed.
- Sign-in records: when you signed in, and the IP address and browser used, which our sign-in provider keeps for security and to stop abuse.
Your browser also keeps a sign-in token in local storage so that you stay signed in. Signing out removes it.
When anyone visits
Like every website, our hosting provider receives basic request information (IP address, browser, page requested and time) to deliver pages and protect the service. We do not use it to identify or profile you.
Write with AI
"Write with AI" only copies a prompt to your clipboard. You choose whether to paste it into an AI service such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and that service's own privacy policy applies to what you send it. Story Animator does not send your story to any AI service.
Why we use your data
Only to run the service you asked for: signing you in, saving your stories and showing them back to you, and keeping the service secure. We rely on your consent, which you give by creating an account. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account. We do not use your stories to train AI, and we do not show them to anyone else.
Who else handles it
- Supabase stores accounts and saved stories, and sends sign-in emails.
- Render hosts the website.
- Google, only if you choose "Continue with Google".
These providers process data for us under their own security and privacy terms, and may store it on servers outside India. Saved stories are protected so that only your own account can read or change them.
How long we keep it
Saved stories are kept until you delete them or your account. When an account is deleted, its email address and all its stories are deleted. Sign-in records are kept by our provider for a limited time for security.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us for a summary of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent, nominate someone to act for you, and raise a grievance. You can delete any story, or your whole account, yourself in My stories. For anything else, email sudhanshuj95@sjbuilds.dev from the address you signed in with. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Younger people can use the editor and preview without an account, which stores nothing on our servers. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), there are no passwords to leak, and the database only lets each account reach its own stories. No service is perfectly secure, so please do not put sensitive personal information in your stories.
Changes and contact
